Urgent Needs

Lanna Theological Center needs to raise $10,000 dollars to build an 8x20 meter (1,690 sq. ft) building. The building will eventually serve as the LTC maintenance building. Its immediate use will be a temporary men’s dorm that can house 30-35 students. LTC currently spends $375 a month to rent housing for male students. The houses we rent are of poor quality and constantly need repairs (for which LTC is responsible). Each house needs a dorm parent to supervise the students. We also anticipate the need to rent for another 5 years before we can build permanent dorms.

This building will have the following immediate positive results:

  • Better housing conditions for our students.

  • A savings in paying rent over 5 years at current rates (assuming no rent increases) of $22,500. These funds can be returned to the general operations budget for other urgent needs or saved up for the permanent dorm.

  • Only one dorm parent family will be needed instead of three. This will bring further savings in salary costs.

  • Better security and supervision for our students.

Your tax deductible contribution to the “Maintenance/Dorm Fund” can be sent to LTC-Land Fund, Christian Mission to the Orient, 1810 Georgia St. Cape Girardeau, MO 63701

Building this building will allow LTC to use these funds in other urgent areas of the college operations budget.

Garden Equipment

The weakening of the US dollar over the past year has resulted in a 14% loss in Lanna Theological Center’s income. LTC is taking innovative measures to help supplement the operations budget. One measure is to grow our own food. Now that we have land, we can have our own vegetable garden. Students and faculty will work together to grow vegetables that we can use in our cafeteria. Excess vegetables can be sold in market and funds put into the cafeteria budget. We need $2,000 to purchase industrial garden tiller and other equipment.

Please send your tax deductible contribution to LTC-Garden Fund, Christian Mission to the Orient, 1810 Georgia St. Cape Girardeau MO 63701. Or use our convenient PAY-PAL option.
